Just got this silver arowana 4 days ago. It's about 3'. It's been eating Tetramin Pro flakes along with about 5 baby crickets every 2 days. I made the mistake of adding it to my brand new 55 gallon tank not knowing about the cycle process. I've added a friends filter cartridge, along with Nutrafin Cycle yesterday. Today I noticed that it is swimming low in the tank, and also is turning a brownish color(compared to when I brought it home). I tested the water today and have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrates, 0 nitites and a ph of 6.0. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. not the best picture, but my camera broke and this was taken with my G1 phone.

you should put your silver in your friends tank until your tank is cycled. thats my two cents

Yeah... PH of 6.0 is tooo low for a silver go higher like 7.0 - 7.5 and try not to use chemicals to increase the PH. Put some crushed coral in a sock and add it to either your tank or filter to increase the PH. Good Luck... hope this helps.

your params are 0 0 0  I don't think that's normal

Ill test it again in the morning and let you know how it is. I will also go buy some crushed coral and test the p.h also. The ph thing makes sense because yesterday the p.h was 6.5. Thanks.

Also I cant put the arowana with my friends tank because he has small goldfish.

Also if I raised the ph would it harm my EBJD and blood parrot that are also in the tank?

arowanas are better then them so raise ph
