Trying to sell a big bird cage on cl. heres the response I got from some1.

Hi there,
Thanks for the prompt response and i will love to make an instant purchase, so please and please do withdraw the advert from Craigslist, i dont mind adding an extra $50.00 for you to take the advert down from craigslist so that i can be rest assured that am in hand of the item. I will also like you to know that i will be paying via check, and it will be over night payment due to the distance. You dont need to bother yourself with the shipment ok,i will do take care of that. So i will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check.
1. Your full name
2. Your mailing address be it residential or postal address
3. Your Phone Number.

Once again, I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping...i will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the check. Thanks.

Sounds kinda weird.

I wouldn't trust it.

Bull. Tell him/her you will leave the listing up until you have CASH in your hand.

I'd be 99% positive that it is BS.

Cash in hand is the only way to do it. Also, after that response, I wouldn't give them my address, I would meet them somewhere if they did buy it.

Most normal legit people would write something refering to the bird cage. They said nothing like (hey I am interested in your bird cage.)
Ignore that email. Its not legit that was prob sent to multiple ads.

I have seen this exact email word for word. It is a scam. They are just trying to get your info. I've gotten this email before, and so have many others. It's all over Craigslist.
You get the email on the free listings and on the job listings. Here let me find an example.

These are just people that live out of the country away from our laws trying to get money wired to them.
Foreigners preying on the stupidity of Americans..

Its the same people that email you right after you've got 2nd in a bidding war on ebay for something pricey. They look for the person that was the last to bid on the item. They email you
telling you that person that won was unable to pay and you can have it. Just wire some money to them and it's yours. Same people.
They make a great deal of money.
