I just got off the phone with a guy from a LFS, seemed very nice and willing to bring me in 2 motoros for 140$ each....making it almost cheaper than buying one online and having them shipped. His deal with ordering fish is, you pay in full before the fish comes, when it comes he'll let you see it eat, keep it fora while and if you don't like it, you don't take it. THeonly catch is that he has to have another oppurtunity to bring another one in for you to get your money back. Is this standard? Is the price good?

price is good dont like the money thing.... i would give a deposit for them but not leave whole ammount and have to wait for more to come no way in hell....

I think you are better off getting two rays from rosewood over at Amazon Stingrays (check the vendor forum). You will get two quality CAPTIVE BRED rays that will for sure be healthier from the get go. Even with shipping you will only be spending about $55 more (actually less then that once you figure in tax for your local purchase) and you will be getting MUCH better quality!

something smells fishy

sounds like he got stuck with rays b4.

amazon stingrays is a click away.....

Call Pat over at amazonstingrays.com. He is a great guy that will walk you through the shipping process. The price is right and you will be getting captive bred rays (I would take those anytime over wild caught).

Does the LFS sell stingrays otherwise? Do they get them in regularly or would this be a new thing for them? I would offer a deposit to them, full price includes there profit, they do not need that up front. If they have vested time into you with this endeavor you should consider supporting them, unless they do not normally have rays, in which case it is a disservice (sp) to the 2 motoros to end up in the hands of an inexperienced LFS. Personally if it were my first rays I would want to see them in person before I bought them, see them eat, etc.

I am no way trying to discredit amazonstingrays.com, captive pups are awesome, and great for the hobby.
