Mine goes through all these different moods.. sometimes acting like he is fighting with another fish even though no one is there, or he will just decide he does not want to eat a picticular type of food.. after enjoying it he suddenly refuses to touch it.. and swims right along side it in a huff..... just wondering if anyone notices these changes in there Arrow.. mine is about 24 inches now so i am deciding his personality seem to change since the 2 ft mark.. not that he won't go back and be his calm self .. but he is having these moody bouts more often..;)

haha You got me for a minute!!:grinno:

My aro (~21") is normally very calm but lately has taken a dislike to a talapia. He will fly after him full speed and scare the @#$% out of the poor 12" talapia. The talapia has never shown any aggression towards the aro so I can't figure out why the aro is doing this only to him with 25+ fish in the tank. ???

That is a strange one.. maybe he just started to do it one day and it turned out to be habit forming because it gave him something to do.. i have a feeling that arow though we love them get a little wacky as they age.. maybe it is from captivity or maybe they just get frustrated that they want to breed and find a mate.. i don't know but i see changes coming again as i did in the Arow i had before this one, nothing i can't handle but certainly would like to help him if i could fiqure it out.

I don't have the answers but I agree captivity may be rough on them. This is the first aro I've kept. Maybe someone that has kept an aro for many years will chime in and help shed some light.

the arrow that i take care of at the store is kinda wierd somtimes... he/she tends to like eating most of the time but occationally acts like im out to get him/her and other times she gets really excited or skittish... i think each aro has its personalities but most are just grouchy old women :nilly:

oh that is cute..:D :D no grouchy old men... funny!! But perfect way to think of it......................................
