Did everyone stop keeping Crenicichla or something? If you go back to around 05-08, there were a lot of threads...now its barely active.

Are there other places that people spend there time now?

Peanut's been busy IRL, so we don't get 20 pm's a day asking for updates anymore.

Did everyone see the Brazilian Marms rapps got in :WHOA::WHOA: I am so tempted to get a male if I thought my female wouldn't kill him.

Think Peanut said those Marms were all female. He wants them bad, but said he cant handle not having male and female.

I emailed Jeff about them and he said they ALL were scheduled to ship to Japan this morning.

A lot of people, including me, are skeptical at keeping crenicichla due to their aggression to other tank mates. I believe some of them are not that aggressive, but the ones people want to raise for their look are the most aggressive species.
If they were less territorial, crenicichla would attract more fish keepers. I know that aggression is case-by-case, but I doubt many keepers would keep crenicichla with other beloved fishes they don't want to risk losing.

I can see that. Honestly, they are the definition of "form meets function" and seem to be much more intelligent then what i generally keep which are other CA/SA cichlids. They aren't puppies like an oscar but are definately sharp.

I used to keep dwarf pikes for several years and they are actually quite capable of living in a community of what is generally considered "docile" fish.

I wish this forum was a bit more active. Lulu, you should try them out and see how they work with your current stock. Something brought you to the Crenicichla forum. I'm sure you've considered it. :)

I like the looks of them, especially the bigger ones (Lents, marmota, cobra, zebrina) but if things don't work out between my current stock (kelberi cichla, datnoids and bichir), I'm afraid I would need to get rid of the pike. Sucks I know, but I did my research before buying online.
