Dog Bite!!

My son was bitten by a dog in the neighborhood this afternoon. He was riding his bike down to his friends house and a dog came out from this backyard and bit him thru his cargo pants. It's probably a good thing that he had pants on because the dog which was a yellow lab bit thru the pocket on the side of the pants thru and broke the skin.
The humane society was called and the dog was up to date on his shots so thats a good thing. But my son who is 11 is going to get a tetnus shot tomorrow.

thats odd... normally yellow labs dont bite... was the dog playing? that i would understand... but thats really strange for a lab....

Yeah, he says it doesn't hurt much, but it is really swollen and bruised.
Supposedly, the owners of the dog adopted it from the humane society and have had trouble with it being nippy. They also took it to obedience school and nothing was working. They said they would let the humane society know tomorrow if they would surrender the dog back to them.
The owner saw her dog bite my son and said the hair on the dogs back was standing straight up. So I don't know. I once had a black lab that was meaner than heck.
Every dog has the propensity to be viscous.

I hope your son understands that not every lad is going to bite.... Like said above every dog has it's chances......

Oh yes, he understands that. We have a dog and when my son and Lucy get to playing she gets nippy and growls at him. He understands the difference between playing and being mean.

Your son is quiet the little trooper, aside from the dog bite, if hes taking the tetnus shot alright he's already more a man than me Glad he made it out ok though, thats random for the dog to get him on his bike.

Yeah, he's a tough young man!!
Today, everything looks better, even though the bruising is spreading more, he is out pulling weeds in the garden with his Aunt right now.

Sorry for your son. He will, no doubt get over it and have story to tell his kids! Hopefully he will not be afraid of dogs in the future.

AHving said that, I woukld say that I am glad it was a lab ( not glad that your kid was bitten ) and not one of the so called "dangerous breeds".....
