Ok it's not how it sounds but you've got to see this.

June 8, 2010 Today takes a look at a disturbing trend in China - owners are dyeing their pets to look like wild animals. Could this be considered cruelty to animals?

I don't suppose it's cruelty like it is to fish but leave it to the Chinese to come up with dog dying.

As long as the animals aren't hurt, I don't think it's cruel. But I think it looks really stupid, I would never dye my dog.

Lemme try again. They have these big fluffy white dogs dyed to look like panda bears. And a golden retriever with tiger stripes.

I dye my dogs sometimes with kool-aid or Manic panic vegetable base dye.... (well 2 of them my weenie dog w/ white patches and my mostly white lab, it wouldn't really show up on the brindle pitt) It doesn't hurt them, completely non-toxic just takes a little longer than a regular bath. No different than a idiotic hair cut or dog clothes I suppose, a little embarrassing for the dog I guess.

lately everything is being censored on this site .....let's start talking about weather hopefully that won't offend any mods....since when mentioning about animal cruelty in china became such a vicious crime?

You seem to make the wrong assumptions, don't you?

We've received complaints of the racial remarks. Neither will the staff tolerate such behavior. This is a global community. The fact remains most comments written earlier, were racial or quite prejudiced. That is beyond the line of the rules for inciting inflammatory comments against those who are personally offended by it.

Mods are here to enforce the rules whenever needed and that does not exempt threads that tend to gravitate towards racial bashing.

As we seem to not avoid discussing in a civilized manner without actually bashing the country in subject, I am closing this.
