some reptile dealer told me dog food is good for nile monitors.i never heard this.Is this true

Make sure it's high quality protein. Most low quality food are mixed with grain.

i would just flat out say no, most dog foods are too high in fat and too poor of a quality to be okay for even the dogs, let alone a monitor

Dog food is made for dogs.... Now, normaly Nile Monitors wont find dog food in the wild so it is unwize to feed them it. Replicate your animals natural diet and you wont have any problems. NOTE: This does not mean power feeding it mice/rats.
