This is an update to my last topic called Stupid Neighbors

OK I have been trapping her cats for the last few weeks and I was making progress until a few days ago. I noticed that out of the 9 cats that I have managed to trap all but one have been sighted back in my neighborhood or back running through my yard. My neighbor is persisent and she is going to shelter paying the release fee and bringing them back! And on top of that she has so many and she feeds the stray cats in the area. Animal services are nowhere to be seen and they can do nothing to stop her since she takes care of them and has proper housing. Her cats have killed many birds in my yard and they go on nightly tears through my yard at night ripping up my grass and pooping everywhere. I am planning to build a pond in my backyard and these cats are a major threat to my future fish. And even still I just want her cats out of my yard. I figure the best solution is to get a dog. I know a dog wont completely stop the problems but I figure once the cats see a dog on my property they will be much less likely to come on it. I had been stronly considering get a dog anyway. I live alone in a 3 bedroom home. And my backyard is fenced in and has enough space for a dog to get a workout(I plan to keep the dog inside) So I need reccomendations. I have been doing research and I really like Staffordshire terriers and staffordshie bull terriers. But I am open to suggestions.

Thanks

best all around dog in the world is a labradore . Or a cheasapeake retriever. Good house dog. protective. not viscous. And love to hunt things. teach it to get the cat. it love ya for life. Mines 11 years old and still try getting cats. great with kids. to

Best dog is lab, best small dog is jack russel, either will cure (legally) your cat problem.

A larger cat...lets say a bobcat :)

Seriously though, I guess you would need a rather inactive dog and I cannot think of any. I always liked muts myself. I highly doubt a dog will help much though to be honest. I assume your gonna have the dog in at night when the cats are most active? I recommend perhaps this...

They used to have a water cannon...that might be fun.

Now my problem is not cats but rather dogs...peoples dogs are coming in my yard and crapping as well as scareing the hell outta me. Dogs can eat or kill me, cats cannot. Any animal suggestions for that one? :)
