Dog comes in the house, trots straight to the tank and starts drinkin outta the sump. Kinda funny, it'd be hard to stop...I'm wondering if it's even a problem?

What's a little dog slobber hurt?

My dog can't get to my sumps so I guess the next best thing to him is the toilet.

I CAN'T cover my sump. I love it as much as my tank. To me, the fish are just a reason to have a sump.

Kinda like ketchup--fries ain't that great. Just the best thing to put ketchup on.

Gotcha.

I'd rather the dog drink outta the sump than the toilet. But can dog slobber poison my fish? Or kill the BB some kinda way? I think not, but I just think that cause I want to.

The cats drink out of the filter of my tank. I doubt a bit of critter slobber is a problem unless you have komodo dragons. Heck, lakes have MUCH worse in them.

In fact, with zero real info at all, I actually think dog slobber is GOOD for the tank in moderation. I just don't wanna learn the hard way.

I would be more concerned about your dogs than the fish but as long no medications are being used your are probably ok. I'm not sure about the effects of de-chlorinators on liver/kidney though.

I ain't worried about the dog. The beer he drinks is gonna pickle his liver before Prime will.
