So, for my 17th birthday I'll be doing up my 20g tank that currently has:

2 clowns
2 electric blue hermit crabs

What I know that I'll be getting is a new hydrometer, an anemone, a Fromia starfish, a cleaner shrimp (my old one died) maybe a goby, a pound of live rock and a power head. Quite excited but, what I need help on is the lighting, I'm sick of the boring default tank lights, what would be a cheap enough lighting system? Also, if anyone else has an idea of what would make a great addisicion to the tank, whether it's inverts or equipment, I'm trying to keep the price within around 200 euro. Thanks :)

For an anemone your lookin' for T5HO, LED, or Metal Halide - cheap isn't a word I'd use for lighting systems that grow zooxanthellae algae

If they are LED they arent the default lights. Standard aquarium lights are simple T-8 lights. Although your light is LED its probably not powerful enough. I would personally buy a T-5 HO if you arent doing a reef.

The light is LED..

I'm sorry I don't quite understand your question - now I'm guessing your not happy with color contrast within' your tank? Unfortunately with LED your lookin' at 2 color spectrums, 1 that's bright white and the other deep blue. MH's are even worse with only 1 type of color scheme. T5HO has many types of bulb spectrums - way more customizable.

I'm not much into lighting so I don't really understand much of that sentence but it has different color options - I'll give you a link: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+21598&pcatid=21598

Personally i would only use those strips as a lighting supplement and not as your main lighting.

you need more live rock bro

If he adds fish he will want more LR but as of right now 1 pound is probably enough for his bio load
