Dollar Sunfish

said they only got 5in max, and i have a 30gal tank w/ shelldwellers and a 1in baby bass, would this fish eat a baby .5in shelldweller or a 1in bass?

in a heartbeat, your bass will eat your shellie soon and they get more than 5"

ooo, yea the bass will go in my uncles private pond when hes near the fish eating size. But will a dollar sunfish be able to live in a 30g w/ shellies? they take up the bottom so the sunny can take up the top?

Could i split the tank in 2, half planted and half plain?

I would say there isn't enough room for both. There will likely be aggression between the sunfish and the cichlids and no doubt the sunfish would try to eat the cichlid fry.
