i just got a tem and orino (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=307810)the other day

i was told they were in the same tank their whole lives with the previous owner but the orino is alot smaller. now day 3 or 4 and the orino stopped eating. i knew this was pretty weird so i sat to watch them for a little and the big tem is bossing the orino around a little.

any one get this behavior? should i seperate them? let it go? i dont want the orinos growth to stunt more...

ya sounds like hes getten dominated a little bit.If there is no visable damage maybe give it a few more days see what happens.I had a smaller orino being dominated by a larger both are small. I seperated for a while then re introduced. the funny thing is now the smaller is more dominate. But im sure its case by case.Maybe some of the guys with more experiance will chime in.By the way i did not buy any tems even though i love the way they look because there growth rate is pretty fast he will out pace the orino.

how bad is it? is there physical damage to the orino? if the orino is getting beat up to the point where there's damage you might want to separate them. If not, the orino might still be settling in. has he eaten at all since you got him? try rearranging some of the decor (unless there isn't any).

not any damage yet.

they both ate very well the first 3 days, then the orino didnt eat a thing today.

ill wait and see how it goes....

My azul does that sometimes, he should eat again sometime this week hopefully

thanks guys!

orino ate 1 pc of smelt today which is better then nothing

tem ate 15 pcs lol

haha that's good that he ate but you might have something else to worry about soon. tems grow much faster than orinos and, if he's eating that much, he'll dwarf the orino even more in no time...Orinos have attitude but if the tem gets too big you might have some problems. when my orino was 6" he held his own against my 8-9" temensis, hopefully you'll have the same luck.

man i had to visit this thread because i thought u wrote "Dominator's behavior(which is me) caused ur orino to stop eating."

My 3 tems are so dominant at feeding time, it's becoming annoying. ;)

Seriously, I have to load them up on smelts before I can feed anyone else and anything else, lol.

One solution could be another couple of bass. ;)
