I have a 75g. Currently has a Sailfin pleco about 10-12”, 4 yo-yo loaches, 1 giant betta, and 4 cory cats. I have 2 of the Cory’s offspring in a 10g I’m using as a grow out tank. They’re ready for the 75g now. I also have 3 yellow blue eye bn plecos in the 10 that are also ready for the 75. And I have a 1” Snow White pleco in a 5g grow out. Eventually I’d like to put him in the 75 as well. I will be rehoming the Sailfin at some point. I would like to have a mid tank swimmer as a showpiece. I was thinking of a ram pair. Or some endlers. With all that, would tank be overstocked? Would 4 bn plecos get along ok? I do have plenty of caves and driftwood in the 75.

I would just rehome the sailfin pleco now rather than later.

Without the sailfin pleco, overstocking will be determined on your ability to keep nitrates below 20ppm everyday and if any territorial issues show up with the fish you will eventually have.

Do you know the sexes of your plecos, that may be important, the males will be more territorial. If you have one male and the rest are females, should be OK. 3 males on the other hand may fight each other.
On your mid-swimming fish, a pair of rams would be OK, mostly any cichlid in the 6" range or under should be fine with the bristlenose. The Plecos may eat the cichlid eggs, so if breeding the cichlids is a goal, may be difficult in the pleco tank.

Plecos are not mature enough yet to see bristles forming. Don’t plan on breeding rams. If it happens it happens. That’s what happened with my corys. I’ll be moving in a couple months so thought I’d rehome pleco at that time so he wouldn’t be double stressed. I’ve had him since he was 1”. Sad to see him go. But I went into it knowing that would eventually happen. He was in a 130g at the time. But I’m moving to a smaller house and had to downsize. ?

As long as you don’t have compatibility issues and you’re will to put in the work, overstocking isn’t so bad..I have 3 understocked tanks and one over stocked and all is good, but I’m a nazi about maintaining I would remove the sailfin. For a mid water fish, I’d go with something like one or two rainbow cichlids or keyhole cichlids
