Well, I quit my job at the LFS the other day. Today is my last day actually, but what's neither here nor there. I can honestly say working in the industry has ruined this hobby for me. So, I'm done with the job. I actually sold most of my fish in the last day or two and broke down all but one tank. I still got my clown loaches though! I'm gonna get them a 90/120g and call it a day. I'll still lurk around this board, just because its so awesome=o.

sorry to hear about your loss in interest, but you never know, leaving the job might respark your interest, give it some time!

thats sucks. im sure u will get back into it some day. well at least now u can save money, unless u have another hobby that is just as expensive

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I used to have the same problem, but then I just started settings new goals for the type of fish I want to keep. It kept me interested!

Hardly, the pay sucked. The only thing that really kept me was the fish. Aside from a few guys, the staff only contributed to me dislike of the place.

Back to the pay...this is what gets me. The owner has the nerve to be one of the most expensive shops in the country, yet pay everyone ****. If it weren't for the discounts, I would have quit on day one. But anyway, I'm glad this section of my life is over.

well good luck to ya, what are your plans now

It’s funny that when I was 16 I left school and got a job as a trainee motorcycle mechanic. I was bike mad and worked in the industry till I was 19 by the end I hate it I could not be bothered to work on my own bikes, I think it is a fine line between turning your hobby into a living. I have had probable 30 bikes since then but it took me 3 years of no bikes to get back into it. Fish keeping is a great and rewarding hobby hope all goes well for you,

I thought about taking a side job working at a lfs, but then realized that my hobby would become a job. That was the only reason I decided against it.

That sucks that you got burnt out on fish keeping, but at least your keeping all you clown loaches.
