Well, I want to buy these flowerhorns from a guy who lives near me. The female is 7" and the male is 11". They have spawned twice on him so I thought with all my 20gallons I have room for babies. But Would it be ok to keep the male+female fh in a 75gallon? If not I will put them in there to make sure no sighns of disease than move them into my 8x2.5x2.5 that we are building

i dont think a pair needs a 375gal tank to breed. what are the dimensions of the 75? i'd have no problem puttin them in the 75gal and i've been keepin fh for a few years now. others may think different. but i think it'll work. just so you know, i've had my fh spawn in a 30gal tank

The 75gallon is just a normal 75gallon I think like 16" or 18" wide. I want this new tank to be a display tank, so I was gona put the fh in there if the 75 was to small but if u say a 75 is ok than :headbang2. The female and male are amazing looking cosidering I dont like the big lump on some fh's heads.

75g is way to small for a breeding pair of flowerhorns. You definitely need to go with the bigger tank. You can't have too big of a tank when i comes to large fish. It's not like they're gonna get lost...

:/ what if I have no decor in the tank? Probably still gona be no. I'm still not 100% sure on if I'm going to get them or not because he hasent emailed me back yet but I hope he does.

i say u go with a younger pair, and go with the 75. they dont need that much space. yes more is better, but imo thats a waste =x i have my fh in the 400 but she has no mate. she lived life in the 30 for a very long time. she spawned in the 30 with a male red devil but the egg's didnt get fertile. go with a smaller pair, and breeding in a smaller tank will not be a problem.

Well, I would love to order a female, male from aquabid but They arent in america and I have to deal with a second shipper and I dont think I'm patient/smart enough to deal with it lol.

I have seen it both ways. Sometimes a breeding pair feels more comfortable in a "smaller" tank. As long as they have some room to swim and turn around. When they are given a lot of space is when problems can occur. All fish are different, but I could see a FH pair doing ok in a 75.

boo, i was the first to tell u its ok lol. but jd man gets all the credit. boo. make sure u post pics when u get ur pair. or why dont u get a female fh and a male midas? thats what i wanted to do, but my midas dissapeared.
