San Jose,
Well, I just lost all my yellow labs that has been with me for more than 4years.

they were in a 30g with my bichir 5in, one plec 4in, two 2in cons and one 3in peacock.

tank filtered by aquaclear 150, and bunch of annubias.

all water parameters were 0. Ammonia, nitrite, and even nitrate.

So what do I do? Clean my glass w/windex, and thought I did it right by squirting it first in the paper towel, and then wiping off the glass.

Two days later, all my fish start acting sluggish, and all my labs gasping for breath. thought it was the heat wave, and added a power head, but still,

all yellow labs died in the course of only 4days. Tested water after second lab died, and found ammonia shot up to 1mgl .

Immediately did 50% WC, then two days later another 35%, as well as added vals for more plant filtration.

Alas, even though ammonia is now back at 0, still didn't help the labs. They were some of my favorites and even let me pet them during feeding time.

Man I'm going to miss them.:(:irked:

Lesson learned: Never use Windex again to clean fish tanks, never get cocky, and assume all will be fine 'cause i know what i'm doing.

Ouch sorry for you loss.
