I got a friend who has kept nothing tetras and goldfish in those small plastic tank. He just upgraded to a 1footer plug and play tank that I gave to him. Even so his tetras and goldfishes kept dying without he knowing the reason..

Suddenly he told me that a friend of his is giving away his 422 along with monsters like arowana, bichirs, rtc, shovelnose and rays and he is highly to take it. When I tried to advice him nt to take the tank from first hand experience when I first started mine, his egoistic self took over and says he can handle it.

Im more concern abt the monsters after it landed in his hands..

Guess I'll just let him be as im getting tired of advising him already.. ;/

Could you at present house any if not all the fish IF they need to be rescued?

You should tell him to create a profile on MFK,then ask questions here.he will either learn from many on here,or keep his ways and get flamed, but then you can say I told you so! That way his poor fish have half a chance

Something that I had considered but talking to someone with a huge ego like him, I don't wanna waste my time. When I was trying to get some sensing into his head, I was ended up bombarded with ridiculous theories of his like im the one who just started this hobby. ;/

I'm nt trying to ridicule a friend. But he has really tripped a wire of mine with his ego and end of the day, it's the fishes I worry abt. We keep monsters ourselves so we would 1st hand feel sympathetic for the fishes if it falls on the wrong hands when all the while it's been well taken care of.

That's a crazy size tank to start with when your a beginner he's gonna have a lot of problems for a few months before he even starts to get the hang of it, I hope he buys a python for water changes I couldn't even imaging using a 5 gallon bucket on a 422, the Outlook for those fish looks gloomy

If they start dying, be sure to tell him why. If he still does not listen, tell him fish keeping is not for him. Send him direct MFK links. Then, give him a pet rock in a bowl.

Words of wisdom here.
