Ok ok, I am looking in my fish book here, and it say Arawana. But I know people here talk of Arowana. So is there a difference in the fish, or are they the same thing, just different spelling?

I just checked, and online it seems to be spelled both ways, but I've never seen it with an "A" until just now. Then again, "Arawana" is apparently also a dancer:

"Arawana Hayashi is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, with roots in Asian and Western arts. "

Hmmm.... dancing fish?

think it is just a typo or a spelling error on the part of the books' writer.... the aro spelling is the only spelling and only kind i have ever heard of....

Hmm, I dont know, it may be a typo but it is spelt that way on some websites. And when I looked it up in the index it had Arawana again.

Still the same fish.
PS. HAW HAW!

I think it's because the fish has been called 'Arowana' by local natives for so many years, no matter what there primary language is. Spelling often gets lost in translation..
