In Germany, swimmers urinating in a lake are blamed for causing a phosphate spike that led to an algal bloom that killed off hundreds of fish.

Apparently this must be a more widespread concern that I imagined considering that there are also signs at the Great Barrier Reef that ask swimmers not to urinate in the water in order to avoid killing off the corals.

human pollution via agricultural run off is to blame here.
