I got "the lecture" yesterday from the parents about why I've got so many aquariums and such large ones.
I think some of us have gotten "the lecture" maybe from spouses going from the "how to get your girlfriend to let you have the bigger tank" thread.

My largest aquarium is 150 and I think they are mainly unhappy about a 70 I'm hoping to get from a friend and use for my goldfish, which would then become my second largest aquarium.
And I think they are worried that I'm going to leave both of my two larger catfish tanks at their place instead of moving them with me to the new rental house so I have room to accumulate more fish tanks.

I've already told them I might leave the 55 gal there , but this is not about so I have room to setup more tanks, it's because I'm worried these older plecos might not survive the moving. And I'm waiting until the weather gets better to move my syno tank in with me.

In the back of my mind, I'm thinking...Don't say anything about that down the road I might like a pink lady giant gourami (and maybe an Asian aro if they ever become legal in the US) that will eventually require a 200 gal tank.

If you become financially independent and live on your own, you will find your parents much more accommodating.

Possibly, possibly not?.
I did live on my own until the toxic fumes. Then the professional cleaners told me after I was living in the new place about two weeks that I had to move back out.
During the time I had lived in my new place I had been developing some extra health issues and my existing ones were being aggravated which when I found about the toxic fumes, attributed to this issue.

Considering the people responsible for the toxic fumes and mess haven't lifted a finger to help me out such as providing me an alternative place to stay while my rental place has had a 5K cleanup, I don't think I should feel guilty about "not living on my own".

A lot of my stuff that had just been unpacked and organized after my move, had to be very quickly shoved into boxes and moved out of the way so professional cleaners could come in.
I still have boxes of stuff that are contaminated and needs to be specially cleaned, including the majority of my clothing, bed sheets and my bed.

I am actually scared to sleep at my rental house because what happened was life threatening. So I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit so I can sleep in my car next to my new "deathtrap".
Possibly I might not sleep in there until after the lawsuit is over.

A for being "financially independent". I don't know what that term means.

^ I think by financially independent he means that you can live off what you make without needing any help from your parents?

Although given your current situation with the toxic rental place, i don't blame you for doing what your doing... hopefully you win the lawsuit and get at least a little something for all the hassle you been through...
