I found my juvenile alligator car in my separated section of the tank with all the feeder tilapia in there gone.
I didn't feed it this morning so it mustve jumped across the tank separator to chase the feeder fish.
It is more wily than it looks LOL.1380504

This is the separator it jumped across.

You may find the Gar on the floor if you don't have a lid on the aquarium.

When there’s a will....there’s a way sort of thing. Yea, get a cover.

I have a tight fitting cover, I just took a picture inside to show the separator.

That gar saw all that good looking food and wasn't about to sit and wait for you to get around to feeding it.
Where do you get small tilapia from?

.....quite a feat for the gar to pull off with the cover in place.

Yes that surprised me, since there is a very small gap between the separator screen and a glass pane above like in my pic above. The gap is maybe 4 inch wide, while the gar is pushing 11-12 inches now.

Gar are natural jumpers I learned this after a Florida Gar jumped out of my aquarium with glass lids.
