Under Water Bolling Lane
So about a week ago i lost my gold spotted red sevrum. Its started with a white fungus on the side of its head. I treated the tank with pimafix. The fungus went away but my sevrum died 4 days latter during the treatment.

So now......my flag tail in the same tank has a fungus on its fins. I'm not sure if i should use pimafix. I don't know if their is a better product. Its still eating but started acting very skid dish today.

So suggestions?

Do a large water change 50% remove any carbon from the filter if you use it and treat with somthing like API Fungas cure or Tetra Fungas Guard. This should do the job for you. Just follow the directions on the package. Both of these meds should be readly available at your LFS of PetSmart carries them.

That is the plan....I'm just so damn hesitant to treat the tank because i lost my sevrum that way. I was thinking about turning up the heat to 83 degrees. If i treat the tank it will not be for the full amount of days.

This guy was also in the same tank that got treated for fungus about two weeks ago. I'm confused why he is having the same issues now.

All of my bichirs look fine and any other fish under 8" looks fine. Do large fish become more seseptable to disease?

I have a drip system so i change about 70gal a day through the drip.

This fish may for some reason have a weaker immune system or had a scratch on it the got infected it's hard to say why. I would bet it wasn't completly healed the last time especially if you stoped short of the full course of treatment. You could treat this fish seperalty in a hospital tank and leave the main tank alone. If the other fish are fine, with the system you have running I would say they should be ok. Threat the Flagtail seperatly would be my suggestion, but if you're going to do it do it for the full course of treatment as recomended on the meds.

I paid 25 for him. A little over paid. But i was doing it so the LFS i was at would think of me in high regards. Cuz they have some very pricy fish that id rather ask for a discount on.
