So recently we identified my tigerfish as a Brevis which is arguably one of the most aggressive species. I have also heard that tatuaia payara are also considered the most aggressive of the payara. Now neither of these species inhabit the same waters, however they are both specialized to a very similar biotope. While the tigerfish grows larger, the tats school I have a school of 3 tats and a single baft allbof similar size tats 6.5-7.5" and the baft is 6.5" will they squabble and find peace or will I wake up one day to a blood bath?

I had this combination at one point with no issues. Individual results may vary.

I would say all these predatory fish are same in nature. In this setup the size is similar so the only issue I can see if someone tries to be alpha.

Otherwise it will be a cool scenario.

IF I listened to everyone that told me my tank would fail I would have never tried ANY of my current combos......

There's only one way to find out.

IF it was me I'd definitely try it, but my experience says you might need a "peacekeeper". Something big enough that none of the toothy little guys tried to be the alpha. Like a big Aro or something of that nature. Seems like as long as there's something in there that's big enough so the rest don't try to become the alpha it greatly increases the odds.

As usual, Al makes a very good point. When I had my BATF and tat together (along with a bunch of other toothy devils) I had a huge black arowana swimming over everyone, which doubtlessly helped to keep them in line.

Without a peacekeeper I'm not sure I'd have 2 Dorado together or 2 Armatus together, and my ATF also benefitted......

Well I currently have an aro in the tank growing out so I guess that's a very good thing! Now I just need to expedite my giant tank plans :)
