Dorados are like 5 inches.... There are 4 of them. They have had Giant Danios as dithers for over a month and aside from becoming tail less every now and then it works great.

My question is will they leave catfish alone? I want to add a herd of Spotted Pictus.....

Am I feeding sheep to the wolves or do you think it will work?

Would like your thoughts.......

Doubt it would work.

Other things to consider is that p. cats are so prone to ick and that they have killer spines if caught by the dors, both reasons enough for me not to risk it....

I have an overabundance of Pictus now....LOL You would NOT believe how well these guys work at cleaning up after messy rays...... There is lil chunks of shrimp everywhere in my pond after a feeding and these lil bastids just fly around like lil comikaze torpedos destroying all the uneaten food. It's actually almost doubled the timeframe my filter pads take to plug up. And the stinkin rays can't eat them....LOL

Ich isn't a worry with salt and temp they are kept at.

Pictus are about 3 inches.

Still gonna give it a go..... Have to finish the sump for my growout first though..... Then I'll huck the rays, Dorado, and "clean up crew" (Spotted Pictus, Striped and spotted Rapheals) in there....

You guys ever seen a double digit herd of Spotted Pictus in a feeding frenzy??? I can't keep a straight face..... it's friggin gr8!!!

:iagree:
dorado and pictus should be fine...
the only thing i hate about little schooling fish is when you have too many of them, the main show fish dont get enough food...
my stupid little silver dollars been growing like crazy cause theyre getting most of the food and the other fish dont get to eat as much...:irked:
selling them...or off to the pond for the perruno to eat.:nilly:
