Hi Just bought my first Golden Dorado, Salminus Maxillosus.

I was told they were really greedy feeders and ate anything offered.
Ive had it 4 days and its not really eaten anything other than the odd little Bloodworm.

Can anybody give me some info on the feeding habits and foods they eat?

thanks Jay

They will eat anything, quite often objects that you would think to large to get down. Is it a large open space? Sometime this causes small fish to be nervous.

Give it some time, I am sure it will starting soon.

Its in a 3ft tank at the min with a few similar sized cichlids which it just ignores,
it bites at pieces of prawn and Massivore but doesnt swallow them.

Im not really that worried as it does take BW but would just rather see it have a good meal.
