hello i just felt like keeping a dorado, heres my questions:
what do they eat?
size tank?
max size?
temperate?
tankmates?
growth rate?
anything else i need to know?

Well I have never kept one but i have read alot about keeping them, so here is what I know. --------They like to swim constantly and because of this need a very big tank. Some have them in 300g's and have said they will need a large upgrade in a short time. They eat almost anything meats/live/shrimp/worms/pellets/etc. Temps in the low 80's should be fine. Tank mates can be other large characins that eat fast. Cause the dorado eats quickly and may starve other fish that eat slower. But with any large predator there could be fighting. And from what I gather they grow fairly quickly.

I agree with the above advice and I have been meaning to ask around and see what other members feed their dorado.Mine gobbles up the feeders that are intended for my bass,I dont want the dorado to be hooked on feeders so I try to give him a variety of foods like krill, flakes, and the occasional cricket.I have two but had to separate them or I would end up with just one.The other dorado is in my wifes aquarium in her classroom untill school is out. They are a very quarrelsome fish unless kept in groups.

the dorado ive had in the past usually would eat ANYTHING i gave them.
