upto 3' they grow like no other, over an inch a month.

massive, some larger examples are being kept in 8'-3'-3'

There is a whole load of mixed info. some seem to be intolerant of any other fish. Some have been sucessfully kept with other boistrous fish. My two for a long time would not get on and had tried many time to cohabit them. They seem to be OK this time although they really lay into fish of a similar size.

I find much more interesting than the usually preds as they are active fish always on the move.

mine grew from 3 inches to 14 inches in about 2 yrs. gets fed once a day but choose tankmates wisely. he left my silver and clown knife and stingray alone but was tearing up my larger pbass and pike so i moved him to the south american tank and so far the only one he doesnt like n there is the flowerhorn but this could soon change as the move was recent. oh if he does find a fish that he cant stand at all then he will eventually destroy it. mine wasnt aggressive until around 10 inches.

I've heard growth at an honest 1-2" a month and would consider less irregular or perhaps a brycon not an actual dorado. I would say well over 2ft is gonna be your max size and they never stop swimming so at least 10x3 for tank?

they are a awesome fish!!!!!! I have 4 of them and I love to feed the lil guys krill they hit like no other, well not as cool as cichla's..But my biggest one is in with a tarpon, pbass's, jag, pike and silver aro!!! He just totments the tarpon, but no major damage...

they do not grow that fast. i purchased 3 at 3-4 inches and powerfed them until they got big then i sold 2 kept 1 and now gets fed 1 time a day. prestine water conditions in a 180 gallon and it took about 2 yrs to grow from 3-4 inches to 13-14 inches.
