Hi all. I recently introduced my 11” dorado to my pond with a divider. While transferring him he seemed to be whacking around a lot and jumped out of the tank, though he did not appear to have any sharp injuries. After introducing him he seemed weak and stayed facing the divider. I tried feeding him a feeder (I quarantine my feeders for 2 weeks with methylene blue) but he just bit its head off and spat it out. This morning he seemed fine and was Swimming around normally but I saw these red things at the bottom of my pond. Can someone tell me what they are and if it means anything for my dorado? Thanks

Not sure what it is but would watch it’s behavior and poop.

Id believe that what you saw was slime off the outside of the fish due to thrashing around. Id not feed for couple of days. They are very resilient fish so with a little patience, it should be fine.

Thanks all for your help. He has improved since he was first added and has a voracious appetite once again. He is also less timid now and only hides in the corner when people are directly standing over his area of the pond, and will now come to the surface for food. However the red slime still seems to be appearing. Now looks like fish guts, but dissolves whenever I try to pick it up.
