Thinking about getting a small dorado, wondering if 120gal would be a good long term tank and what to feed it?

Need to figure out what kind of "Dorado".....

There's Brycons and true "Golden" Dorado.

What ever ones aquascapeonline sells

Aquascape doesn't have any in stock... But the ones on their site get big. Real big. Google image search them. 120s not gonna last a fish like that long I wouldn't think, but I don't know as I've never kept one. Maybe someone who has will chime in...

aquascape dosnt have any in stock yet, pedro said should be some in next month. thanks for the info tho.

i had a 17incher in a 120 for a night. was gonna hold it for a month till the big tank got here. it damn near smashed right through the glass, or the cover. you could hear it thud constantly against the glass. it was my most worrisome night of fish keeping yet. nothing under 6x2.5, preferably 3/4ft wide. 6-8ft long

WOW....I probably wouldnt have got any sleep that night...LOL...:nilly:

I had two and lost them to a tank crack, not their doing. I was going to put then into an 8' x 3', Although I feel this would be two small if they broke 20"+ which is very possible, They are very active and at 10" they were two big for a 120, the 180 that were in was minimum for that size in my opinion.

Thanks for all the info ill have to look into an alternate fish now, maybe a common wolf with a larger Hydrolycus scomberoides and 2 pbass
