Hi all,

P1030662.jpg

I currently have some Dwarf hairgrass (Eleocharis parvula) and Pygmy Chain Sword (Echinodorus tenellus) in my newly scaped 10.2 gallon tank. Is there a need for CO2 injection for my tank? If yes, what would be the recommended dosage each time if I were to use CO2 tablets?

Kindly advise and thank you.

What lights do you have on the tank? CO2 isn't always necessary, but it can definitely help things along under the right circumstances. If you don't have a whole lot of light, you might be fine without. If you are running lots of light, you might need to consider getting some more plants in there (ie. fast growing stems) to fight off the algae outbreak.

Personally, I recommend against using the CO2 tablets. DIY CO2 is easy enough when you know what you're doing, and if it's necessary I'd be happy to walk you through that. Start off by telling us what you've got as far as lights.

I'm currently using my desk lamp at 11W, but I'm pretty sure its not halogen bulb. Is there a specific kind of bulbs we're looking at for aquarium lighting?

I have some Anubias Nana in my other tank. Will they help as stem plants in the time being. My cherry and yamato shrimps could help in some algae control, but I'll have to get my senegal bichirs out from the tank first.
