I have a 20 gallon being set-up for some apistos. But i need something to help me with the algae. I would like a small pleco that is not pricy. Looks good. And If possible i want it to breed in the tank with the appistos. I was thinking bristlenose but they were to bland at first sight. any other ideas? something small, pretty, not pricy, not easy to breed but it is a home-bred species? Any ideas cause i'm not a pleco expert lol. thanks in advance

I got some called candy stripe pleco. theyre omnivores and stay at 5". try searching about them cause idk how to sex them.

If your breeding dwarf chidlids in there.
I would stay away from plecos, and blistle noses,
They eat the cichlid eggs. I use golden algea eaters.
They seem to be a lot more timid.

pleco's will eat eggs for sure... My pleco would get both fish so rowdy and then he would sweep in and eat eggs.. I have even seen my fish bite the crap out of him and his skin is so tough, it don't phase him... NO PLECOS for breeding, would be my suggestion.. maybe go with the little sucker catfish or corydoras for housecleaning... they are easy to run off from eggs. Good luck..
