Doug Millard’s Obituary

I purchased my first large tank from Doug in the 80’s at Pisces/Capricorn in Cranford. That was a great shop, Doug was a great guy.

I remember Doug from Pet Shanty. He was a great guy, could talk fish for hours and knew the Latin name for every fish in the store. I heard he was sick, I'm very sad to hear of his passing the hobby lost a great one.

Oh wow I did not realize that was Dog from Pet Shanty and earlier. What a great guy. I could talk to him for hours. He was so knowledgeable and I have always wondered what happened with him. I knew that he was ill but not much more. He will be missed.

I just found out today at Adam's pet safari that Doug passed. As little as it was, the thing I most remember was Doug's pet shanty shirt hanging at the store with a sign that anyone who moved it would be cursed with 21 years of bad luck. I always chuckled when i saw it. I always had a good conversation with him when I went in but didn't know his health situation. He will be missed by anyone who was fortunate to spend time withhim
