will it be possable to house dovi 8" and an umbee 8" both males together in a 650 g tank for life ? other tank mates are feste f/m ,venny pikesx2 8"f/m ,true parrot13"?,flower horn9"m,red devil8"m, lyonsi8"m. jag9" f/m .indo tiger fish8"?,peacock bass6"? ,fire head 12"m ,fireheadx jag hybrid 5"m,600 mm fire eel. 5 red hooks ,3 clowns all get along ok ish. flower horn ,firehead ,parrot are even boss at mo no 1 dus any damage to each other really all bark no bite just wondered if it would stay like this or if the bad boys of the lot will slowly pick off the others as they get to full size ..one thing i see now in a large tank they do not seam to make territorys like they did in my 240g they are all over the place now even after 4-5 week after puttting them in ,i think it makes it more easy going for them tank is 12x3x3 any one had experience with adult larger examples living to gether like this.i have put size and sex next to there nick names.

and using the search feature looking for "dovii umbee" would have netted you plenty of answers to your question. Theres even the same topic/ question on the first page of threads with a good explanation of what happens/ could happen when mixing the 2, albeit in a different sized tank.

they have been together in a 240 for about 4-5 months so far and 1 month or so in the 650 they totally ignor each other at the mo the others spar a little bit or clear there close area as in get out of my face sort of spar but thats it the dovi was put in after the umbee.they both have some 1 to put them in there place at the mo so i spose it will be a size thing in the end ! ?
from what i can tell i seams like grow them to gether have like sized tank mates with same attitudes in a large tank and a few of them and i might get away with it . thats what i was hoping is any one getting away with this i might get rid of the dovi and keep the rest together would be nice is any one managing this and how big are your fish please?..
most of them have been together in a 240 for 1 and a half odd years before hand they are quite relaxed really together if they was 1 on 1 or 2 or 3 gether they would hurt each other proper, if 1 starts another steps in and sort or gets in the way and it sorts of breaks up to nothing the red hooks help and are fast to get out of the way but a good dither fish i spose most of them are young adults now ,i just wondered if other people are getting away with this but with bigger fish?i think the dovi might have to go when he getts to big or will he be matched with the umbee and they will keep each other in check and the others co exist around them ,,,or am i just dreaming lol...
This will only work till they get to 9-10" after that one will be seriously beat up or dead. They start to get more and more aggressive as they mature specially the umbee he will eventually take over the tank
