Hey guys, are female dovii usually more aggressive than males when they are young? I have a few females that are 3 inches and they seem to win the battles when the few males of similar size I have are near them. The males always seem to back down first or are the ones to take a bite from the females mouth. Is this normal? Thanks

They're dishing it out while they still can I would separate them if it gets too bad. I've also heard (second hand mind you) that in an all male or all female tank they do grow bigger faster

females want to test the males, same as say Jags or JD, if proven inferior they will harass them to death. best to not have them together untill the male is much bigger less the male get owned.

this changes when the male becomes a wife beater.

FriedFlowerhornFillet is right.

When they're young sure the females will be able to hold off a male... tides will be turned trust me. Dividing now is the best choice to avoid any of them dying.

IME, the males have always been topdog regardless of age... but this is my experience :)
