So over night my 6" male has decided to become a total pansy. He went from aggressively guarding his tree stump and all intruders to hiding behind the filter and darting scared awAy from everyone. So the others latched on to this pray behavior so i had to remove him. My question is, is this normal? Is he going through some weird pansy stage? Will he get his aggression back?

Almost all my fish go through that phase, I have a dovii/mota cross that dominated my 120 and then one day I noticed it was running scared of my female convict, I notice this happens a lot after fish get into a fight and loose

Had a dovi about 3" was boss of the grow outs added a loiselli same size just chunkier he become dominant. And now even a 2" dovi gives the bigger one a go. Think it's a bit of a confidence thing.

Dovii are very skittish fish. They overcome that as they mature. Mine would hide in the corner up to around 12" from time to time. Anymore hes does not hide although he will still dart around from time to time. Give it time and willm ore than likely overcome this stage, he is still very small.

Enjoy these moments my friend as you will not be able to put your hand in the water at 14 inch

Im hoping!!

I guess someone kicked him out of the stump and he loss his confidence and the others kept pestering him because he was acting like a wuss. You cant act like that if you want to hang with that group. So i put him in another tank to get a bit more size on him.
