given the gape of a pima that big, it still may be a challenge due to the size in length and height of a dovii. that being said, it sounds like you may be concerned i with an already established setup (perhaps a public aquarium or other large display?) that being said, if the fish is well fed they can often be kept with smaller individuals without problems (public aquariums do this all the time, but just because it works for them doesn't mean it works on a smaller scale in captivity in all cases). hope that helps--

A 29 inch dovii sounds amazing, but depends how big the giggas mouth is and how deep the dovii is try measureing the dovii depth or just chance it, or move it some where eles.
Goodluck

Arapaima don't usually eat fish that big, 29 inches seem too big to fit in their mouth !

no pics of the fish, they are my friends. just wanted to know if it was odd that the pima hadnt eaten the dovii yet. thanx everyone

I have Sean you ask a fair amount of ?s about arapima and chance or some picture of the the tank pond swimming pool you are going to keep this fish in

I know I asked for a few pictures in one of your many other threads but I may have mist them as it's very hard to keep track if you open so many new threads

It maybe best for us and you if you keep all your ?s in one place don't you think

The best come back I have for this is...:topic::flamed::topic:

Oh and to keep my post on topic! I doubt it would be eaten.

thanx for all your help. i will put all of my future arapaima questions on the "arapaima info" thread from now on. i have no pics of the tank as i am still planning and getting funding for it. i wont have it for at least 2 years. im only 15 and dont have $100,000 right now. i dont make that type of money, yet. my family is good with construction so i will save a bit of $ there, but the materials will still cost alot. thanx again.
