Dovii and butti sexing

Dow is a female, you can see the blunt oviposter.
Not so sure about the Butti tho I believe it is a lass as well.
A trick I use is to do a largish water change and quite often their oviposters are displayed.

I quadruple the opinions given, Dovii is a female, ovipositor on show AND lacking of spots. Definite female.

ok thanks everyone. i wanted a male dovii of course but they were all so little in the store i have just had to wait. i had this one for a little over a year now. guess i gotta find her a mate
well i have decided to sell my butti and gold pike that live in the tank with that dovii and get a few males and see if i can make a pair. i hate to get rid of the butti because i have raised him since he was about the size of a quarter but i guess it is time to move on.
Buttis cannot be sexed accurately. And this is coming from somebody who has raised many groups of them in the past. In a group dynamics, you can usually get a VAGUE idea of who is the dominant male, but beyond that, it's all guessing.

I say both fish are female i am confident on the dovii being a lady and i bet u could get a male dovii for her at pet paradise in v.a.beach i was in there about 2 weeks ago they had several dovii of varoius sizes.I like your butti how big is she? the fish looks to be of a sexualy mature size u have never seen any eggs?
