Dovii and Pike cichlid

Has anyone ever tried a dovii and Pike cichlid? I'm starting to like the look of the male dovii more and more. I had one when I was younger, only lasted a few weeks. I've owned a sveni pike that was very aggressive towards my bichir.

Pike cichlids require soft water in the long run as opposed to Doviis which do better in hard water.

Is that for all SA, or just some? I know that some are more adaptive than others, I was hoping that was the case with pikes.

The lugubris family is prone to HITH anywhere from 3-5 years in hard water. I wouldn't keep a smaller pike with a dovii.

In a large pond it might work, but anything less than 350g I wouldn’t risk it.
