im planning on using cichlid gold as a staple diet for my wolf cichlid,but i heard feeders like minnows are actually good for wolf cichlids.is this true.also what about crawdads.

Be careful with feeders or any live food. They could carry diseases. The best diet is a varied one. I feed about 6 different prepared foods along with frozen shrimp, smelt, squid, Krill, mussells, live worms(trout, blood, and night crawlers) and only every once in a while do I use feeders.
don't do live food, and ime you won't need a diet that varied, it always helps, but it's not requiered by any means, some pellets for a staple, and the occasinal snack of fish, or earthworms is fine. i know that feeding pellets is not a s fun as your feeders, but for the health of your fish, dump em.
I think that if it take pellets stick with that, just giv eit some prawns or mussel or frozen food every now and then.
