I was just wandering, what are some suitable tankmates for wolf cichlids? Right now the dovii is about two inches and housed in a 55 gallon tank. Next year im going to place the dovii in a 180 or 210 gallon from my job. I was thinking probaly a pacu, RTC, arowana, or something big.:stingray:

Its very unlikely that a dovii will tolerate tankmates in anything less than a 1000 gal. plus tank. If you want any chance of success try and put them together when they are young, but even then be prepared for the possibility that you will wake up one morning to find everything dead but the Dovii

You can search the forums on this subject theres been plenty of discussions on it.

when young dovii can tolerate tankmates, if the tankmates are larger, once dovii's hit 9"+ they start to get there psychotic urges, i personally wouldn't bother, they look better in single specimen tanks anyways.

My three inch dovii is psychotic already. Death toll now at 3. He wants to kill a bristlenose pleco now. Dovii have no friends.

If you are looking for a tankmate and have a local fish store that can order you an adult black shark (Labeo chrysophekadion), makes a great tankmate for a dovi. Ive got one with a red devil and a jag both 11 inches, the shark is 15 inches and he the dominant fish:) These guys potentially can reach 24 inches in length and are very tough fish:) Their temperments vary widely from docile to pure killers but Ive never seen any black shark back down from a fight either if pushed into one. The cichlids in my tank respect this guys size mainly because the BS has drilled anything that has attempted to challenge if for dominence.
