Dovii getting nice and fat

Here are a couple pics of my little dovii. It appears to be a male even though it's currently only 3" long, it also is starting to teeth as you can see in one of the pics

The pics are about a month difference, it's thickened up nicely since I purchased it. I feed it primarily Hikari Cichlid Gold (about 20 small pellets a day) with the occasional chopped up night crawler.

First pic is when I got it, next 3 are from today.

Some of the unclear pics show the blue specs are much more abundant than in this pic.

i read something on here about nice lighting really bringing out dovi reds and green colourations.

Hmm.. really think it's a female? I'll still think it's a male, but I guess only time will tell

At what size can you accurately sex these things?

Do the females get a lot of blue / green specks on their face? I'll post one of the pics that really shows how much blue / green it has on it's face.

My females look the same as yours. My males are a bright green in color. Heres what one of my males looked like at 2". The other I thought was a female untill 3.5" when it started coloring up. The male in question didnt show a hump like this little male dose and still dosent at this time. Just better genes in certain fish I guess. This little guy is now a 4 inches and looks better than most full grow Dovii I have seen. Its an F0. I would like to sell my other pair if anyones interested...no shipping.
