Just started with this site but I have a tank of 2 inch dovii would it be smart to add Pbass around the same size? I am trying to find out what can go with my dovii...

I agree pbass won't make it. Best idea would be to grow a group of bass out in separate tank and once they're 6-8" you can add dovii into a really large tank;) otherwise just keep the dovii. What size tank do you have?

Pbass aren't aggressive enough to hang with cichlids. You would need an 8' tank to get away with a group of bass with any cichlids as they both get large. My snooks push around bass and they're all 3-5" I have a tough time keeping the snooks with other cichlids that won't beat them up. Not to burst your bubble but you would still have to go with a larger tank than a 125 to permanently house a single dovii or umbee. But they work great for growout tanks for them. If your keeping the dovii try some red devils, Midas, convicts, or something like that. I'm not sure what your trying for tho

Well I am some what new to the Hobby. So I am seeing what I like most... Would love an Umbee but haven't seen any in Utah :( . I would just like an aggressive colorful looking fish.

Check out this video that Mel O posted on here a few threads down. It is a little over 20 minutes long. But he narrarates throughout and is very informative. You will get to see full grown umbees and doviis, and it is very eye opening to see them at such huge sizes and also the massive aquariums required to house them comfortably. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4qlojoFrN4

The doviis don't make an appearance until a little past 4 minutes, the umbees a while after that. And you'll probably see some nice cichlids that would fit a 150-180 better than an umbee, dovii, or p-bass that are surprising impressive in size and coloration. Good luck whatever you do!

^^^^Like stated above which is acurate advice you need to have larger size cichlids of both sp to pull it off. I have breeding pairs of both in the same tank breeding with no problem but everyone is 8'' and up. Also your going to need plenty of room and another tank just in case you don't want to loose either sp.
