just wonder what the normal dovii growth rate is after 1st yr he got to 12 inches in that first year but has only grown 1 to 2 inches after 18 months hes in a 120 gal by him self

That's about right. After 12" they slow down and start putting on more girth. Also a larger tank would help and he is getting close to needing a larger tank anyway IMO. My male is a little over two yrs old and about 17". Keep up on water changes.
yer always the 120 with fx5 is just a grow out will swap it out for a sumped 6x3x2 just broke as atm.
If he was a tank mate friendly one he could go in the 350 gal right now but he's a bit off a prick doesn't even like female dovii
