anyone that can help me with info on dovii ,,,i have a male 10 inches had him for like a yr hes a f1 from rapps... just got a female..shes about 3.5 inches ....been trying to find out anything i can on these guys other then they r aggressive and will eat anything ..lol fish geeks pissed me off time to move on .....doviis are in a 120gallon for now working at getting the 300 set up and running .....? i have how will i know if hey r a maten pair beside babies ..lol....what to expect with these to now ...

Hi Kevin! Welcome to MFK. If they are living together peacefully in a 120G then u r off to a good start. Your female may need to mature a little bit more so keep a close eye on the males behavior. If she's mature enough then you may notice them cleaning/preparing an area of the tank for eggs to be laid.. Good luck!
good luck but my 6-7" female had 2 spawns with my dovii and i have 7 3" frys right now but last night he beat her up so bad it looks like some one de-scaled her so im kind of worried hope she survies
Just make sure she has a hiding spot in the tank that only she can fit in. In case the male is wanting to breed and she is not ready. That happened to my managuense pr. I took the fry out and put them into a grow out tank. He wanted her to spawn again and she wasnt ready. He put a hurting on her. Thought she was going to die. I put some pvc piping in the tank. She hides in there whenever he is in one of those moods. Just monitor them closely.
hey thanks alot guys seem to be goin good so far been about a week and the males does really bug her she has pvc pipes thrown in and there is soe driftwood in there too "plastic" but it works .....she still seems lil to me about what size is a female mature nough to spawn .....
