Dovii - ID sex plz

Well, it seems that I may be inheriting this dovii so I might as well know the sex. I think it was a boy, but I cannot see any spotting and aggression does not seem very high. It is only 5 inches long so maybe it is not yet mature enough to sex, but what do you guys think?

My guess would be female. At 5" my male had a lot of spotting on its upper half and on its "cheeks". My females had the more solid horizontal bar and large spot on its gill plate as your fish does.

Thanks folks. Do we have any more guesses. When I first got this fish, I thought male but w/o spotting I am leaning female. Similar to this thread I think this fish is female...75% feeling.

BTW, supposed to be F1 CR yellow...if that makes any difference.

Looks like a female. AT 5in the males already showing theri freckles or spotting.

I would bet that is a female like I said above....thought I would post some pics of my male F1 Costa Rican at 5" to compare. If you look at his side he has a lot more spotting than the female your showing. I also have a female that does have a little spotting like yours although she is only 3" about so she pretty much looks like a fry still. Also the body shape looks female. Hope this helps.
