I was just wondering if anyone has a Dovii and Jag in the same tank. My Jag is about 7" and the Dovii is about 5", neither fish is the dominant of the tank but these 2 can not stand each other. No real fights yet just flexing their muscle at each other. I know they are from the same family of fish but not sure if that is the problem or not.

I know that dovii get much larger (males) than most jags, that being said maybe, maybe not. I would separated them. Check this link out in which someone actually successfully bred a dovii and jag.

It might not be a problem now, but it will be shortly. What else is in the tank and how big is the aquarium? I would not even attempt to have a Jag and a Dovii in anything les than a 300 gallon imo.

It can be done, only for a while. If the dovii is a female, it may be alright.
If it is a male, It's only a matter of time before you have a one fish tank.

Thats what I was worried about. I have read about them for almost a year before getting one but I thought for sure a 240 would be large enough. It is a male and it is a beautiful fish, I would hate to get rid of it and will most likely keep him over the Jag.

I am trying to do that right now. I have a 10 inch female jag (the one in my avatar) and an 8 inch male dovii in my 210 right now. So far no problems but I am watching it closely.
