Both, of you guys are wrong. Duck. You have yourself a nice looking male. Males have dot patterning below the black horizontal line , females do not. Males have speckling in the dorsal, caudal and anal fins. Females do not.

I'm voting male as well due to the spotting below the lateral line and in the fins. It'll become much more prominent as he gets over 6-7".
