dovii mating question

How can I can I help my dovii pair to mate?
They did once, and they look like they want to
again, but then nothing. Is there anything I can do
to help it (them) along other than raise the water temp?

Many things. Here are a few - move to a bigger tank, provide more hiding places for the female, feed better food (such as Jumbo Krill, NLS, etc.) add some dither fish....

I would skip on the dithers cause they will end up dead any way. Just plenty of water changes and high protein foods like market shrimp, tilapia filets and krill. Definitely some xtra hiding spots. Sometimes the male is overly aggressive towards the female.

I have bred and still breed these bad boys. Dithers do not work in a dovii tank. Let alone a breeding pair.

If this is still your current setup:

"55 gal long 1JD 4 Convicts 2 Black Belts 3 Dovii 1 Jag 1 FH 1 Texas The jag and dovii will be moving to their own tnk soon"

then other than moving them, you probably cant do much. That tank is way overstocked and getting them to spawn in a 55 w/ 10 other cichlids of the same size is only asking for disaster anyways.

Youd be better served to keep them from spawning if you care about their tankmates.

that set up is no longer what i
have. just a jag and jd in one and
the dovii in another tank.

actually disregard the post, went downstaris
to feed and check on them and i have babies again.
