Dovii or Convict

I currently have a 125 gal. setup with 1 Male Midas, 1 Jaguar, 1 Red Devil, 1 Texas Escondido.

I had an 6" Trimac that was kicking everyones ass. I traded him to my LFS. He wants to give me either a 5" female dovii or my choice of male or female 6" convicts.

What do you think ?

Also can you help me sex my crew

I would go with the female dovii. Your male jag may enjoy having a female parachromis in his tank. Can't accurately sex other two but would venture to say that the tex is female and the midas is as well.

Have you seen the convicts? a female convict doesnt get 6 inches and a male hardly ever does. Id go with the male if hes as big as you say, on that alone. You could get the female dovii, but half the time, they end up being as bad as the trimac. Of the several pairs Ive had, only one female wasnt worse than the male dovii, aggression-wise.

A 6 inch male con would be bad ass!

dovii can cause trouble in a tank already containing some pretty tough customers..the con is a safer bet, especially a big male as VRWC said.

I own a female and male Dovii love them both, always go for Dovii good luck!!

i think cons are only as good as feeders. i don't unless you plan to buy the female then go ahead, but my vote is on the dovii.

If he truely has 6" convicts I would pick out a nice one and be done. I think you will be asking for trouble with a female Dovii. Your tank already has several large aggressive fish and will be pretty full when they are adults.

Pics are a little blurry but Jag looks male, Escondido definately looks female. Can't tell on the RD.

you don't even have room for a dovii, go with a male convict if you really need another fish.
